As Kazmier kneeled peering into the dark hole, the roars of the other Librarians picked up.
Shit Then in a timely fashion the first Librarian returned and knocked Mikhail to the ground, but he blew it's guts out just in time. Before Kaz could blink, he, Mikhail, who was injured, and Jason were alone with dozens of Librarians closing in on them.
"Suka," was all that Kazmier said, when he looked to where Jason was standing, wait, where was Jason? Did that bastard run away? Now, Kazmier and Mikhail were officially alone with dozens or more Librarians. If Kaz braved into that hole, he may meet an untimely demise, instead, Kazmier used his few moments of safety to look for another exit.
Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a door that labeled: Staff only, basement entrance
Kazmier took that as his cue to grab Mikhail's shoulder, supporting his wounded leg and they took off for the staircase that would take them deeper into the fortress. Noticing their path was blocked by two charging Librarians, Kazmier popped off a few rounds at one of them, causing it to stumble and get in the way of the other, allowing Kazmier to duck past a blind swing overhead and continue their way mostly unhindered.
When he wrenched open the door to the basement he slammed it behind them and looked for things to bar the door. He found a cinder block and a few planks of wood. He hastily fastened them around the door and looked to the darkness below. All he could see was a few steps in front of him and utter darkness.
"We have to find Balalaika. Jason is gone, whether or not he ran off, we're on our own.
With that being said Kazmier switched his headlamp on, and began their descent to find Balalaika and, to complete his objective.

((If you read closely, it says that he shoved the Librarian down the hole. He didn't go down the crevice. This is what I wrote:
"With only instinct, Mikhail shoved the beast to the side and into the black crevice. Another but louder thud was heard soon after.
He groaned and crouched up into a sitting position. He looked down, hoping the Librarian had not landed on poor Balalaika."))

(my bad. i almost forgot about the site)
Jason watched as the group ran into the basement. in the confusion of the second attack, he had hidden himself in another room, crawling through a small hole in the wall. Now all alone, he picked up a small map he snagged from the information desk, looking for another entrance to the basement. "the further down they go, the worse itll get.... gotta find another exit for them..." He ran his finger over the map, stopping on another entrance on the other side of the library. "There... thats where they need to go." He slung his bag onto his back before looking through the hole, watching the librarians approach the door. "HEY YOU BIG FREAKS! OVER HERE!" He fired a few shots with his Tokarev, trying his best to draw them away from the door.

Balalaika waited for her companions to shout something, but all she heard was the sound of their boots stomping away. They'd probably decided to make a run for it; much wiser than trying to look for her. Balalaika shifted slowly, extending her injured leg out so she could get a better look at it. Biting her lip beneath her gas mask she slowly peeled back her trouser leg. The pale skin of her ankle was an angry red and she thought she could see some swelling starting up.
Broken leg, she thought. Well that would make getting out of here even harder. Well, might as well not lie to herself; she was truly fucked.
"Slooooowly, slooooowly", she breathed as she attempted to stand up. Her eyes darted around the dark room, searching for something that would help bear her weight. Eventually she found a piece of plastic piping sticking out of a pile of rubble nearby. Dragging herself over to it, she pulled it out and propped the bent half beneath her armpit.
She gave one last whistful look at her AKSU before walking away. It was too high up for her, and she didn't want to waste time retrieving it. Instead she pulled her pistol out, hoping that it would keep any mutants at bay. After shining her headlamp into the thick darkness around her, she saw a door hanging broken from its hinges. A dark stain of dried blood covered the floor of the corridor beyond.
"Bloody hell...", muttered Balalaika before limping through the doorway. She hated the idea of going through that pitch black corridor, but it seemed to be the only exit abailable.

The pair quickly went through the door and barred it with cinder blocks and planks. Mikhail cursed softly to himself and turned on his headlamp.
"We have to find Balalaika. Jason is gone, whether or not he ran off, we're on our own," Kaz said.
He nodded in agreement, "Let's go..."
It took nearly all his strength and courage to follow his companion down those dark steps. Who knew what may lay waiting for them... deeper down into the bowels of the Library. The stairs continued in a spiral, the concrete steps old and chipped. Bugs and an all manner of flies crawled along the walls, some jumping onto their gas masks.
Clearing his visor, Mikhail gaped as the pair suddenly reached... darkness. It was mere blackened basement full of junk and ruin. He was about to speak when he heard a low growl and a dark shape move in the distance.
"Shh!" he said softly, "Quiet! Turn of your headlamp!"
Quickly turning off his, Mikhail wondered what the next opponent may be... a Black Librarian? Surely not... but nay... Black Librarians were said to dwell deep within the Library. And here they were, stuck inside a forgotten basement of the Library with nearly no possible chance of escape.
Just great... Mikhail thought, What did I get myself into...

Tssh fuhh...Tssh fuhh..
Valeriya opened her eyes with a startled look upon her face. Her legs kicking the body of a former squadmate that she hid under, and then turning back around to search him.
Where is it! Where do you keep them!
Her mind racing as her visor fogged terribly, her lungs starting to constrict at the lack of oxygen they received. She hastily frisked the body, her woolen gloved hands patting down all of this man's pockets, searching in despair as she found none of what she was looking for. Damn it!
Her mind screamed, her foot kicking the body so it rolled over, this action of anger turning to be an action of savoir, the body's right shoulder moving ever so slightly to reveal a bloody spare filter. Her hand snatched it quickly, and her fingers scrambled to screw in the new filter. She quickly snatched her knife, and popped out the center of the canister so it could open to the air, and do its job. She inhaled heavily, sighing as her lungs exhaled the cleansed air, though a new sound frightened her, the sound of rushed, heavy footsteps and the sound of a brute running at something. She dared not peek, for she knew what it was. Her eyes drifted to the floor, where a dead Librarian laid, as well as a few dead Soviets, one of which had an arm nearly ripped off.
Damn those Fascist dogs, we came here for books on Communist Ideals, and they are here! The ground doesn't befit them.
She thought, as her eyes drifted to a Fourth Reich soldier, whom was shot dead by the same person she hid under for the night. The skirmish was very much so a blur to her, having put a few of the soldier's down herself, but somewhere along the line a horde of Librarians bum rushed them, and at that point, the side chosen did not matter, all that mattered was if you survived...After sustaining a few casualties, and getting into hiding across corridors, the heat picked up again.
Trapped in one room were three Reich soldiers, and five Red Line soldiers. The cease fire did not last two minutes. The Reich shot first, killing the commanding officer. Valeriya open fired and hit a Reich soldier in the chest. The other two Reich soldiers quickly mowed the rest of the Red Line soldiers down, except for the one man she was hiding under, whom got the last two with his handgun, one to the head, and the other in the knee cap, while he took one to the chest and one to the head. She shot the last survivor, before another two Red Line soldiers came in, scavenged gear off the soldiers, and were going to stay until a rouge Librarian attacked, nearly ripped the younger soldier's arm off, and wounded the other man's leg. Needless to say, they killed the beast, and one ran off. The other bled out...
Now she is here, grabbing the AK-47 the nearly one armed man had, searching for spare filters and mags, putting her Mosin on her back, and heading the opposite way the beast ran...
The basement seems the safest place to be..all the beast will be up top...lets hope there is an exit down there..
With that, she walked began her journey to the bottom of the library.

[[Sorry for taking so long guys, but I'm back!]]
It had only been a few minutes since the episode in the main hall of the Library, and Kazmier's heart was still beating like crazy. After descending to the bottom of the darkened staircase, they heard it. A deep low growl, one that belonged to one of those black Librarians.
"Shh!" Mikhail said softly, "Quiet! Turn of your headlamp!"
Kaz obeyed and flicked his off. Now in the basement with Mikhail in utter darkness, he began to feel the ground and shuffle onwards. Then he heard another growl, and some heavy foot steps coming his way.
Shit
Looking back to where Mikhail was he whispered "This may not go as planned."

Nothing but empty grey corridors, empty rooms and collapsed bookshelves. Balalaika felt like she'd been wandering through these silent catacombs for hours even though a quick glance at her old watch proved the contrary. She hadn't seen or heard any sign of other humans.
"Chiort", she muttered between laboured breaths. Fatigue was beginning to take its toll on her body, her broken ankle throbbing in dull pain and her muscles aching from the effort. She felt herself wishing she could just collapse onto the floor and rest, just for a little while.
But instead she grit her teeth and continued to limp down the corridor, gingerly going over the rusted remains of chairs, tables and shelves that had been thrown out of neighbouring rooms. As she was about to round a corner, she heard a sound that sent her mind spiralling down into a maelstrom of terror.
An animal-like snort. Balalaika hastily turned her headlamp off and struggled into the nearest room. Something growled down the corridor and she heard the sound of heavy, lumbering steps coming towards her. Trying hard to silence her ragged breathing, the small stalker wedged herself behind a shelf packed with mouldy books and documents and remained as still as a statue.
The beast came into the room soon afterwards, and despite the complete darkness she was in Balalaika could feel its monstrous bulk. Balalaika closed her eyes like a child trying to shut the darkness out and her mind began to repeat a simple feverish mantra:
Please go away, please go away, please go away, please go away...
The monster snorted and growled. The sound of small objects and furniture being pushed aside reached Balalaika's ears.
Please go away, please go away please go away pleasegoawaypleasegoawayPLEASEGOAWAY...
And then she heard the beast retreat. She heard its heavy footsteps disappear down the corridor until they were no more. She heaved a heavy sigh of relief that whistled through her gas mask's filter.
Better go before it decides to come back.
She crawled out of her hiding place and glanced cautiously out from behind the shelf, switching her lamp back on. The room was completely empty. Shaking, Balalaika propped her improvised crutch up and limped away as quickly as she could.

"This may not go as planned."
Mikhail sighed shakily, Kaz had gone on little bit ahead and was nearly on all fours, trying to not attract the beasts. A low growl bellowed, and the Hansa soldier could swear he saw the dark outline of a black Librarian, slowly but surely, lumbering towards Kaz.
Fumbling through his pockets he whispered, "Hold on..." He brought out an empty magazine cartridge, and weighed it in his hand. He then chucked it far past the librarian, the metal round clinking and breaking glass.
The towering creature grunted and walked in a faster pace towards the commotion. Mikhail jogged quietly to Kaz, beckoning him under his breath, "Go, go, go!"
The two would run across the dark room, another room seeming to be ahead. Relief began to fill him, but then, his feet struck a loose object on the dark floor. A loud growl of alarm suddenly sounded and a heavy pad of feet began to come towards them.
"Shit!" Mikhail yelled out this time, and pulled Kazmier along with him to the room ahead. In a halting breath, he stumbled to the doorway and clung onto the side of it, searching for a door, hinge, anything! A long arm then suddenly grappled itself over his shoulder, the Hansa stalker yelped in alarm.
He was turned around to face the mangled and tumor-ridden face of the black librarian. Sneering and gnashing it's teeth, its dark lips curled back horrendously to reveal rotten gums. In all his adrenaline, Mikhail brought up his Kalash with one hand and unleashed a small burst into the mutants side. The wound only made the librarian angrier, and its roar echoed through the chamber.
He gritted his teeth, grunting against the brute force of the creature holding him. He looked to the side and noticed a metal door by the doorway.
"The door, the door! Close the fucking door!"
He yelled to his companion and let out a war cry, kicking the beast in the leg, not caring if it did harm. His leg strained against the cement floor, the bandage being opened slightly as he used all his muscle.
