I don't agree with Shadow at all. Then what's the point of even having Metro 2033? Why did Glukhovski predict that people would even survive in the metro and build a society we see in his books and the games? Why didn't he predict that everyone just DIED or went crazy and killed each other? So one can't really say anything for certain here. Therefore, moving the date back is not relevant at all here.

I agree with milch. Metro doesn't always have to be realistic xD Glukhovsky even states in an interview that the Moscow Metro, in reality, can only help citizens survive for 9 months.... 9 months to 20 years is a long time gap.
Besides that, I do think that, in Glukhovsky's fiction, that the Metro could survive until the 2070's. Repettitive bandit raids is unlikely to be a threat to the whole Metro as bandits usually have crappy equipment and the most unreliable explosives.... and little to no organization. Famine is possible, I'll give you that. Faction wars are risky as any zealous Red or Reich dude would have to go through Polis and the Hansa to get domination... and they control D6. Anyone with a remotely intelligent mind on his head wouldn't doom humanity twice by provoking a nuclear strike.

Suspension of disbelief is pretty much essential for the Metro universe. We would never have got Metro 2033 if Glukhovsky had stuck to the fact you'd only survive 9 months in the metro. We'd never have enjoyed Metro if we'd looked at the series' unrealistic aspects and thought "this isn't realistic so I can't like it".
