Wouldn't it be great if besides human companions (PC's or NPC's) to have a pet animal or mutant? I have done research into it and found nothing on the topic. Most animals in Metro seem to have died out and there is no mention of mutants ever being domesticated but that doesn't mean its not possible right?
Post your thoughts on the matter and what you would like to have if you could have a pet companion.
I'd go with a hound that can sniff up the presence of mutants, it would come in handy. Or a plated Nosalis lol.

If played properly, pets would make an interesting addition to the RP. Dogs, cats and rats would probably still be common in the Metro (especially rats), although a mutant would take a lot of hard work to tame.

Sounds cool! Can't wait to see this idea come alive.

TAMED DEMONS! I OWN THE SKYYY!!
But for rizzles, isn't a little puppy dog in the first chapter or so in the book? That thing they're all scared of. I think dogs wouldn't be out of the question. I think I already had a character who had a dog that died before the RP started. Mutants wouldn't only be hard to train, but they'd probably be just shot on sight like
bob is training his mutant
joe walks in and shoots the mutant out of habit "hey bob wanna head to starbucks"
bob is like "wtf mang"
From this highly sophisticated example, we can see that mutants wouldn't only be extremely hard to tame, but it'd also be extremely hard to convince the people around you that it's worth doing, that it's possible and that they shouldn't shoot your mutant! They've been given good reason again and again to shoot mutants and then never ask questions because, well, they're mutants lol.
But don't let that disencourage you if you really, really, really, really, really, really want to do it. But if you really, really, really, really, really (one less 'really' btw) want to do it, consider a German Shepard or a Hound Dog, or a Bengal Tiger lol

I don't think there's any reason this specially needs to be ''made'' into the game. Why can't we just say your character has an animal or even a mutant if you really wanted, if you have a good backstory, and then roleplay them? Nothing overpowered though, like with Novak's mutant hunter. It'd be kool if your character bought or saved a puppy in an RP, and then little by little trained him. It'd fit your character too, I'm fairly sure he's the biggest loner I've ever seen anyone play. But yeah, if you do use a pet it would be nice if you roleplayed them realistically. Dogs, cats, mutants and bengal tigers all have their own personality that you learn to read by spending time with the animal just like with people. A good example of this is my dog; she's fairly stupid, and a lot of times when you try to get her to do a trick or something when you have a treat, she'll really try to understand you and do the trick, but it takes her a while to get it right.
