Name: Andrei Malashenko
Birthplace: Moscow before the end, somewhere near Krasnye Vorota (Red Gates)
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Faction affinity and relations: Red Line
Physical description: Tall for someone who has grown up in the metro, Andrei stands at 6'1" - a rare height and something which marks him as something of a rarity. Broad shoulders, high cheekbones and amber eyes set in a handsome face are a mark of fine breeding and the intense training of a career soldier. Andrei has black hair, cut short to comply with strict communist regimes.
Personality: Andrei is charismatic - able to talk his way out of almost any situation and capable of rousing the hearts of idealists. Although he was brought up in the red line, he has become dissatisfied by the way they are implementing the socialist revolution and so has sought out other ways of spreading his 'pure' strain of communism. He is a friendly man, though sometimes a little aloof - as people of his stature and facial complexion are like to be. He is an idealist - wanting to think the best of people but knowing that in the current state of affairs, they will almost always be worse. He has a special hatred for the fourth Reich - not only because of conflicting ideals, but because he believes that Fascism is the root of all evil, that nothing can be more righteous than fighting against the Reich. Andrei will also do anything for his friend Pyotr, some may consider this a weakness, but if Pyotr has been his constant companion since they were young and Andrei believes that their unity is their strength.
History: Andrei was born a year before the bombs fell, in an unknown neighbourhood near the Krasnye Vorota metro station. Just before the city was destroyed his mother and father were able to reach the metro station, getting in with the final wave of desperate people seeking refuge. From then on, all he knew was the metro. His father was a self proclaimed revolutionary who passed on to Andrei his devotion to the red cause - raising the boy on marxist and leninist jargon; initially his father was a main advocate of the rise of the red line - becoming a major member of the party and rising to power in the Krasnye Vorota infrastructure once the red line assimilated it. However, due to disagreements with party policy and subsequently the mighty Chairman Moskvin himself Andrei's father was eventually ported off to the Lubyanka prison station when Andrei was twenty and the boy himself was watched for any signs that he might go the same way as his father. Needless to say he didn't, but his fragile faith in the Red Line's capabilities of spreading true communism was shattered and Andrei set the goal in his mind that if he ever got out of the line, he would find true communists. Until then, he would blend into the masses and try to spread his views through word of mouth; in his mind, the best way of doing this was through joining the Red Army from the bottom, a shrewd decision, as he had always been an excellent marksman and because that was where there was most likely to be political dissent. A few weeks ago however, he had been walking on patrol with his friend Pyotr when a small piece of cloth bearing the face of Che Guevara was pressed into his hand. After closer inspection, there were almost illegible words on the back saying "Meet me under the blinking light.". Ever since he discovered these words, Andrei has been itching to find out what they meant.
