Site Behaviour:
1: Respect and obey the staff members without complaining when they ask you to do something. The staff is here to help you, not crush you.
2: NO ARGUING. If you feel the sudden need to get into an argument with a site member, do it via PM. This also means no insults or flaming.
3: No political or religious discussions are to be had on this site, except regarding fictional IC politics or religions.
4: As said before, the staff is here to help you, however they are not above the site's rules. Report any abuse of power you may be a victim of to the head admin (Lawnmower Joe).
5: In-character posting and roleplaying (any kind of roleplaying) in the chatbox is forbidden.
Activity:
Activity is very important. If you join this site and then never even post or log on, your account will be deleted. Of course, real life always takes precedence over the internet, but you should try to warn us about any absences beforehand.
Roleplay:
Important note: this site is not a beginner level RP. We prefer literate players.
1: You may only post in the IC section after your character has been approved.
2: God-moding is strictly prohibited as well as power-playing and meta-gaming. God-moding is when you make your character(s) unstoppable, power-playing is when you take control of other player characters and force outcomes on them without their owner's permission. Metagaming is when one of your characters knows something he or she could not possibly be aware of.
3: Use proper grammar and spelling. Sentences like "teh army crushd teh enmy" as well as chat speak elements like "u", "r" or "plz" are excessively annoying to look at. Although this site has many non-native English speakers, they have all made admirable efforts in their writing quality. We expect you to do the same.
4: Respect the setting. Any weapons or objects not native to Russia are allowed, but their presence in the RPG must be explained. The same goes for non-Russian characters (why and how they got to Moscow in the first place). A rescue force/envoy from another country is not possible, since this is a post-apocalyptic setting and no other countries were spared.
5: Chatroom-style roleplaying is not allowed on this site, this includes the use of asterisks to describe character actions. Example: *Peter sits down and sighs, reaching for a bottle of vodka*
The ONLY place where such roleplaying can be used is the Bar thread. Pretty much anything is allowed in the Bar.
6: Never double post in an RP thread unless it's the only way you can deliver a whole post. Double-posting out of boredom and impatience will see your post quarantined and/or deleted.
7: Don't harass other roleplayers. Remember, this site has people from all over the world and from all walks of life. Time zones mean that some people might not be on where you are. Also, real life takes precedence over this site, so if someone is busy with work/college/homework/personal problems, just let them be.
8: DO YOUR RESEARCH! If you plan on using a certain cultural element or making a thread located in a part of the Metro you're not familiar with, don't just pull stuff out of your ass! A quick trip to Wikipedia or a look at the site info will greatly improve your post.
Character Creation:
1: No Mary Sues/Gary Stus. A perfect, unique snowflake with purple eyes and golden hair is annoying, shallow and unoriginal. Please avoid this. If you wish to have your character have a mutation of some kind, please refer to the Mutations section.
2: No anime characters. They simply do not belong in the metro.
3: No canon characters, unless it's someone from the Metro 2033 universe. Nobody wants to see Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell or some other non-Metro 2033 character running around.
4: No joke characters.
5: Keep the history and capacities realistic, and take into account the environment your character is in.
