Sonya continued walking, facing away from the lit flare. She glanced back at the person, he talked way too much, she thought. She shook her head at the offered canteen, "My name is Sonya." she said and kept on walking. All of a sudden she stopped and looked around, up, down, left, right, until she found what she was looking for. On the ground in a small alcove was a service hatch of some sort. Without a word she turned a small latch, head a click and pulled up on that hatch.
Without a word she lowered herself down until she could drop from a safe hight and let go. She landed safely onto a concrete ground and looked around to get her bearings. She had been this way a few times before to pass under this line, so she knew where she was. She sat down against a big pipe running along that wall and waited for the others to catch up.

Vassili was puzzled by the sudden detour of the leading woman. He doesn't even know where she came from but the short sentences and weird social behaviour showed her origins to be either a nazi soldier or a savage. The first idea was of course to be erased since the Reich doesn't send their precious women out of their stations, the second however sent shivers down his spine. he stood aside the dark and rusted hatch. His body ached from all the struggle and desired to find the closest bed, but his mind told him to stop and think. " I'm not going down there with that woman first ", he thought. He then began to harass Alexi about the strange woman's path, showing him a skeptical look, " Is that some kind of shortcut? to VDNKh? Is it safe? " A moment later, distant mutated animals growls began ricocheting around the dark and empty tunnel.

Alexi looked up at the sound, "Tunnel Trash, take up a defensive position everyone." He said, replacing his bastard gun with his Mosin. "Keep backing up, slowly." He said as he watched behind them.

Vassili was ready to pull out his only gun, but decided to lower his friend's AK, “ I can't tell what is that gas, but if we have a confrontation, it is wiser to avoid shooting through this toxic mist, it may be flammable, let's just get inside that hatch and close it. I hope she knows what she is doing.” Looking at the dark hole, the young man could see Sonya, her eyes were brighter somehow, but the Doktor had other things on his mind, he quickly sat near the edge, once he saw the height, he lowered himself down, the landing was slightly clumsy but silent, a good thing to do when monsters are around earshot.

A tremendous roar breaks out from the tunnel you had all went through, Nosalis pouring from some old vents and newly-dug holes. They run, rapidly, out of these crags and charge the group of humans crawling into the hole, and they run fast. There's a good horde there, numbering 60 or 70, or maybe more.
They almost come right to the humans, who have set themselves in place and attempted to exit the tunnel. They get right ontop of the group of people, but they -don't- attack. Instead, they run right past the whole bunch of them, some even jumping over each other. A good ten of them run into the cloud, and then with a howling sound that is a cross between a honk and some animistic hum, they all stop, and look curiously as their brethren tumble and screech in agony within this destructive, mysterious cloud.
And so, the Nosalis stand still and stagnant. Watching, confused deeply. They smell the area around them, and they notice the humans, but do not attack. They stay either strictly on the rails, or occasionally moving over to sniffle the people as they either stand their ground or go below. A natural oddity indeed. Why would they charge you, and in such great numbers, without the goal of ripping you to shreds?

I must be dreaming, this is impossible, this isn't right! The mind of the young exiled from the Reich is facing an odd situation, he never studied animal behaviors that much. But the fact that these monsters didn't jump on them was a relief, this comforting thought quickly disappeared. These Talpa Nasuta Miraculosae are predators, why are they afraid? If the metro could read minds, it would watch a large spectrum of horrible creatures and Myths radiating from the group's imagination. Nosalises scares humans, something bigger are menacing more than seventy nosalises packed in one tunnel. It was obvious for Vassili that these predators spotted them. He whispered to his neighbour about his fears: "I am afraid we are sandwiched between the Gas and the Nosalises unless we close the fucking hatch we might buy ourselves some time!"

As the doctor whispered "I am afraid we are sandwiched between the Gas and the Nosalises unless we close the fucking hatch we might buy ourselves some time!" Michael snapped out of an trance like state, for the last minute he was just looking up to the Nosalis, silently awaiting their first move. "Even for the Metro this seems too strange" he thought while reaching out for the hatches handle.
The hatch closed with an metallic bang and the goup was now wrapped in darkness.
After rifling trough his Rucksack and finally finding his flashlight Michael flipped it on.
(I leave it to Soully or the next poster to describe how it looks in that shaft ^^ )

The tunnel was more natural for the Metro. Dank stinking water dripped into puddles on the floor, and mold and fungi grew on the walls. It traveled down a few feet, then made a left. Rusted pipes lined the wall, and he didn't feel like listening to them again. Alexi let his eyes adjust as he walked forward a few steps.
"The time for talking is done. Now is time for making sure we don't end up as Nosalis shit. Lead the way Sonya." He offered, holding the bastard gun up and ready in case the shit hit the fan. He heard the sounds of something pawing at the cover they'd just came through. Whatever was in VDNKH had better be worth this.

Vassili checked his equipment, especially his stechkin, under a small flashlight, the metal of the gun looked polished, without any notch, someone with no experience in weapons might believe this piece is in good condition, however the automatic rate seemed to be broken beyond repair. He loaded a clip with the dexterity of a rookie, following the instructions he had learned over the years by looking at mercenaries. Vassili would have opened his gun cleaning kit to pass the time but the screams of the unexpected guests above their heads started to fade out in the distance, meaning the group can start to move anytime soon. So close yet so far from VDNKh, the group is now stuck in a tunnel within a tunnel. What seemed to be a good idea at first became a weird initiative from their wildling partner.
However the alternate route taken by Sonya suddenly started to be a lifesaving action. The Doktor started to feel dust falling on his shoulders, after a quick brush of that dust with his fingers, his skin got itchy. When the man examined his hand, his eyes almost popped out of their orbits. The cloud is moving he whispered, quickly followed by a louder uttering order: we have to leave now! He then holstered his pistol, grabbed his backpack and made his way through the small crowd to lead the way to an uncertain safe zone up ahead, toward VDNKh.
With his haste, the strange orange dust landed on the ground. This powder was in fact rust from the hatch that was supposed to cover them from monsters, the blood on this said powder proves that it is now corroded and corrosive because of a long exposure to the gas above their heads, the cloud is descending to reach the group and kill them with his deadly embrace. The light of the flashlight dances around the walls of the small corridor ahead, Vassili was certain, this is the way to VDNKh. With no hesitation he climbed down a staircase, undoubting that he would soon meet a service entrance to the metro station. Before disappearing in the darkness surrounding the stairs, Vassili heard the voices of his friends of fate behind, dazzled by his sudden pace.

And with extremely good luck, not only do the monsters run away, but the light of a service tunnel can be seen directly towards the right of you. It even has a door, left open, and people are clearly seen working and walking in the light. many of the people seem to be workers, or guards of workers, and a characteristic VDNKh Banner sits at the end of the tunnel. Some of the people there are children, walking about as Caravans slowly traverse up and down the line. If this wasn't the entrance to VDNKh, then it's the Entrance to Riga, which is the next best thing. All you gotta do is get there before this cloud gets you first.
"C'mon, you can't just leave them up there!" Came a familiar Ukrainian-accented voice.
"The tunnel to Alexeyevskaya is closed. It's been for months. If your friends were up there, they'd be dead by now. You remember how empty the place was, no? Imagine what it is like now." Entered the rougher voice of a worker, perhaps a foreman
"Well, I hope they made it out... I mean, I was up there. It's dead, empty. There was a body, but he was not in good condition."
"Pff, you? Up there? That's rather stupid of you. Infact, I believe you're bullshitting me. If something doesn't come out of that tunnel in the next five minutes, Then I'm out of here..."
All the more reason to get out of there. The hatch is getting rusted away, and the gasses are leaking through, and now you're under the threat of being trapped. The entrance is only about twenty feet away, and a few more feet down. Now all you got to do is live long enough to reach the exit.

Alexi picked up on the voices and moved forward, he lowered his gun and came around the corner, letting out the loud whistle that was the classic metro greeting. "Hey. We are coming! We're friendly so don't shoot!" He said as he stepped cautiously into the light. He made sure to show the patch that was sewn into his trench coat, revealing that he was from Polis. He stopped once he had their attention, getting shot was not on his list of things to do today.

A safe station? It might not be VDNKh but the sight of something alive and human is a relief. Vassili followed his Polis associate while wearing his old lab coat, the light shone in the piece of clean cloth that the Doktor always paid attention to. Hippocrates adviced his students to look always clean and healthy in order to gain trust with the patients. His hands up in the air, Vassili awaits an answer from the guards of the station. With the projector lamp working at high efficiency, looking forward him was like staring at the sun. A good plan against raiders who would want to take their gun out and snipe the guards. with a blinding lamp like this, aiming was impossible. One voice came out of the station, a very loud military-like shout from a soldier. "Your names and state your business here please!"
