Here I've got a basic plan of Sonya's history. I'm flesh it out a bit more later. I'll write it as a short story with dialogue and all that stuff. It's very likely to change as I write it.
Sonya's parents both made it into the metro and survived the bombs. They had just married a few months earlier. Realizing that they didn't have long and would most likely soon be dead they lived life to the fullest, or as much as they could. That was when Sonya was procreated. Born in Borovitskaya station, before it became Polis, Sonya grew up living a peaceful life.
When she was fourteen her parents, her and a few other people were on their way to another station when bandits ambushed them. She managed to slip away, she ran and hid in a corner with her eyes closed as all she could do was listen to the screams and cries of her parents and friends as her mother was raped and murdered and her father was stabbed to death. She stayed there hours after it was over with her hands over he face, staying as quiet as she could. She eventually managed to get herself up and creep back towards where she'd ran from. The sight she saw was probably what traumatized her the most, using a small torch given to here by her mother she found the bodies of her parents piled up and covered in blood.
Sonya sat in the dark holding the cold hand of her mother while staring into the dark. The bandits had already left with whatever the could find. After all her tears were spent she continued to sit in the cold, silent darkness. She started to get hungry after a while so after looking in her fathers pockets, in which she found his watch, she started slowly walking back in the direction of Polis.
She was met by the perimeter guards. They almost shot her. When she got closer they saw that she had blood all over her clothes and hands. When they asked
what had happened she just stared at them. One of the older ones recognized her as part of the group that had left a few hours earlier. He took her back to Polis with him and got her clean clothes. He asked her a lot of questions about what had happened but she still didn't say anything, as if she didn't even hear him. But he already had a pretty good idea of what had taken place.
When they got to Polis he took her to his shack where he left her some clothes and told her to get some sleep while he talked to some people. When he got back Sonya was still sitting exactly where he had left her.
