Here's a scary fact: Putin's advisor is Alexander Dugin, a, extreme Right reactionary politician and proponent of "neo-Eurasianism". According to Dugin, the world is divided into two blocks: the tellurocratic continental block, headed by Russia, and the thalassocratic block headed by America.

I don't think that any one person in the world has the power to call a nuclear strike, even Putin. I'm wounder what they are saying in the Russian media about this, so for they have bee calling the Ukrainian Government Nazis and that they have been forcing young men to join the military by holding guns up to their families heads. I can't say I trusted any government right now not to dick around in this but something has to be done.

I don't see any peaceful way out of this. I am not way into politics or an expert on the matter really, but it's /very/ clear that Putin will not be surrendering to NATO's terms. They have no reason to. The EU is losing already anyway, since Russia is a very big energy producer.
Britain is about to have a very cold winter... and the Russians are not showing any will to even consider the sanctions or terms. Nothing good can come from this.

That's right Russia supplies something 75% of energy to Europe (not sure how accurate that is). I do see war and lot of death but I stil don't think that (or at lest hope that) Nuclear war is not going to be a possibility.

It's scary that this is hitting the fan while everyone wants to cry peace. If it does, I know that America will find a way into this fight. If the US Gov't starts the draft, I'll sign up before my number comes up, I'd rather go in as a LT than as a drafted Private.

We're fine, we already live in a wasteland.

My husband (who is a born and raised Estonian) is a bit peeved that just as he's working to get out of the US Marines there is the very good possibility of going to war with Russia. He was injured during his last deployment so it's not like he'd be going anyway but it is funny to hear him rant on about missing out. Can't really blame him much, the Russians were not very nice to his folks lol.
That aside it seems Russia has been pushing for another World War for a while. It's been rather inevitable imo.
