Hi guys,
a few months ago I was gone for a week, then last month for 3 weeks straight. As I already mentioned, I'm a roleplayer of all sorts and visited my annual conventions.
I thought some of you might be interested in the nature of these conventions, so I'm going to introduce you to the F.A.T.E.
Here you have some pictures. Welcome to Angel Falls, City ruled by the cartel and its foundation buried in drugs and blood.
DISCLAIMER: The photos were not taken by myself, I gathered them together after this years convention. Maybe you get some inspiration out of them, but I will take them down as soon as one of the shown people tells me to take them down.
Welcome to Angel Falls:
Maybe do some shopping?
Maybe sit down for an Ale?
You can go freely where you want to go...
... as long as you don't stand in the way of the cartel and its boss.
The "City" at night:
Some die, some mutate...
Where I get to work as my medic Alex (or as you may know her: Tharina)
And my beloved cartel:
The Event takes place every year around Whitsuntide, next year it will be 3rd to 7th June. Ticket costs are moderate as long as you order soon. The convention grounds are in Mahlwinkel, Germany, about one hour from Berlin in old russian barracks, which have been left about 25 years ago. Maybe I will see one of you there for holiday sometime?

F.A.T.E. is the endtime/apocalypse LARP project by the Lost-Ideas-Orga. It's taking place in a post-apocalyptic genre, similar to movies like Mad Max, Postman and Waterworld, as well as computer games such as Fallout, Wasteland or Rage. The LARP-Con is taking place annually since fall 2007 and is an ongoing campain.
F.A.T.E is set in a postapocalyptic future world, based on the real world. What really happened in the "Big Fire" (that's what it's called by the survivors), doesn't matter anymore to anyone and isn't known to the residents of the "New World". Whether it was a global nuclear strike or downfall of economy, a pretty little climate catastrophy, meteorite impact, deadly plagues or all combined: what triggered Ground Zero is not of any importance, 'cause only the result matters.
Total devastation of civilization as we know it today.
Mother earth escaped it's doom and the miserable leftovers of this world are shaped by radiation, contamination, constant climate changes and most importantly the lack of resources. Shortage of goods is one of the central topics in such an endtime world. Now, almost 150 years after the apocalypse, people are noticing mostly the scarcity of water, food, safe places to live, fuels, clothing... precisely almost everything. The remains of humanity usually live in a stage between the social standards of the Wild West and the technological debris of an early 21st century society. Very few (actually working) relicts are left behind, which date back to the time before the end and therefor are on the highest technological niveau. However, most of technology - and the knowledge about it - seems to be at max the level of the 50s to 80s. First priority on the list of duties in this world is survival and after that, there is a long list of nothing. The tough and strong found their way to struggle along. All the others die sooner or later, maybe by radiation or toxins, maybe because another survivor had an eye on their precious relics, their water supplies or plainly their shoes. In this world rules Darwin and only the fittest survive.
