Disclaimer: I have never played Dragon Age: Inquisition. My experience with it comes from the numerous videos I watch. Therefore, I can definitely be wrong about my statements, and you can correct me if I am. These are just my opinions based on what I know.
I know people have their reasons for being mad at Bioware, but come on.
Dragon Age: Inquisition's user scores on Metacritic are some of the stupidest things I've ever seen. People are dishing out 0/10's for the most laughable reasons ever, like, "The controls are bad," or, "Bad UI," or, "Badly optimized and buggy," (Yup, as if initial launch issues are some sort of blasphemy that's never happened before).
Then there's folks who are just so butthurt about Bioware's past mistakes that they make it their duty to bash their games no matter what. What's the gameplay like? Who cares, bash it anyways, in the meantime repeatedly screaming, "OMG THE OLD GAMES WERE SO MUCH BETTER!!!" Is the story alright? Nitpick the absolute fuck out of it. A few cringe worthy lines here and there? Say the entire game has the worst writing ever. Any non-Bioware game has the same issues? Give it a much higher score.
As for Bioware...yeah I think they've been slipping recently, but that doesn't mean I've suddenly lost all faith in them. Besides, their recent games, while definitely flawed, still aren't as bad as people make them out to be. I feel that Bioware's biggest issue is inconsistency, which seems to stem from a mix of various internal complications and some questionable decisions, i.e. major dev members leaving and being replaced with different ones. There's also the fact that EA is terrible. Should Bioware step its game up? Yes. Is Bioware, as many people claim, "dead?" No.
What I'm really losing faith in is the gaming community. Instead of being mature and reasonable, all gamers can do is hop onto the next hate bandwagon and bitch about everything. As I've said in a past thread: Am I asking people to praise everything no matter what? No, I'm only asking them to be reasonable.
But, eh, I ramble a lot. What do you guys think?
