Exilian is a community for pretty much everything. If you can't find it on Exilian, than feel free to add it. We have been around for almost 7 years now (Since 2008) and have prospered at times and managed at others. Exilian has a place for everyone, if you're interested in gaming, there are several places for that, whether it's video games, table top games or even board games (We even have chess tournaments). Being a forum mainly about gaming we also have our won modding communities, mainly mods for games such as Mount and Blade or Total War: Rome, but anything is welcome.
One of our most proud areas of the site is our writing section in which many people have shared poems, short stories and even wrote their own songs. We have an art section for anyone interested in sharing their art and also a gaming section for forum games and Roleplaying. One thing we have which a lot of other forums such as ours doesn't have is our very own Choose Your Own Adventure stories.
The way things are run are very unique. Our community is a democracy. Everyone has a vote in how things are run and who gets to be leader. We have biyearly elections where our Citizens get to enroll for moderator and admin positions. We even have political parties which can be joined.
When you join the site you won't be a Citizen straight away. To become a Citizen you must prove to everyone that you are a valuable member of our community, adding artworks, poems, forum games and getting involved in general discussions around the site. Once you are judged as being an active and valuable member of the site you can ask to be a Citizen or someone will approach you about being a Citizen. A vote will than be cast by the Citizens whether you should be a Citizen or not (Don't worry, as far as I know there have never been enough 'no' votes to actually dismiss a Citizenship application).
Exilian is a place for people to relax and have fun with places to discuss everything: politics, science, games, drama, history, movies, TV series. We even have a place for just Citizens to talk in private. Our community isn't the biggest out there, but that's one of our charms. We are a have a small amount of active members, with this everyone has become close friends with each other.
We hold events, activities and competitions regularly and even have our own yearly ExiliCon in England.
We do many game Reviews and Tutorials and many of our members have been involved in the making of their own games and programs throughout the years. More recently one of our most active members has been developing his own Steampunk tabletop roleplaying game called Guns, Swords, and Steam.
If there are any questions please post here or preferably create an account on Exilian and ask one of our members. www.exilian.co.uk
