Well, being a Redneck from the State of Virginia, I kinda grew up with guns and being a repairman with machines. I own my own Mosin, which is why I gave Alexi one. I study and know plenty about guns, and I'm into mechanical stuff. So, here's my question, why don't we see more weapons or innovations within the Metro. Can we suggest new ones, maybe some new carts or something. If the Nazis and Reds can make tanks, then I'm sure we can get some creative stuff.

It's in discussion. But the main reason is limited resources and there would be limited gunsmiths or equally talented people, but... I'm interested to see what you had in mind.
Tanks, armoured trains and the like, would be faction wide projects.
I think someone else can probably sum all this up better

What about makeshift launchers (RPG, Greanade launchers etc). I'm pretty sure I've never seen or heard them mentioned anywhere. But I could be wrong.

What Karc said. Limited resources and limited educated minds make Metro what it is and gives it the decadent atmosphere of losing hope. This isn't STALKER, so I don't think we should get too crazy with what we invent. Big stuff obviously goes to factions but I don't think there would be a lot of them. In Metro Last Light we only saw one tank, that's it. 'cause when you think about it, with all that metal you could create more bullets, helmets, fortifications, all that useful jazz. Some factions might need all that material elsewhere, so that's why I think there would be fewer armored vehicles. And what's the point anyway? A tank is like a sitting duck in the tunnels, just go back and forth and once it's done its job it can't really do anything else.
Lone stalkers can make their own weapons, sure. Just really be honest if your character has the knowledge to even make a custom firearm, it should kinda be included in the backstory. Even if a custom weapon is made, I doubt it would be better than the prewar weaponry you can scavenge or steal. Not much good material anywho, and the constant starvation and violence kinda makes it hard for any groundbreaking changes.

Very true, but it still comes down to the fact that people will always look for better ways to kill one another. Just look at the Reds in Last Light, they stole that chem weapon, then tried to smack down the Rangers in D6. I can understand what you mean with the tanks, and I wasn't about to jump the gun in giving our characters the things. I'm thinking of smaller ideas, a classic Molotov Cocktail is always nice.
Molotov Cocktails: Take a glass bottle, pour roughly halfway full with gasoline, diesel, or any flammable liquid. Then fill it another 1/4 full of motor oil to thicken it. Take a rag that has been soaked in flammable liquid and stuff it down the top of the bottle. Re-insert plug or bottle cap, then tape or tie tightly to secure.

We already have Molotov Cocktails (cuz we're awesome!). I personally think that simpler, more primitive weapons would proliferate in the Metro. Crossbows, for instance, might make a comeback since they're quite easy to use. However they're not easy to make. Airguns could also make for strong competition with pre-war and Metro-made firearms. Melee weapons could also be more common. Think trench clubs, shovels, trench knives and axes.

Of course they're awesome! . The melee weapons are always good. Although, I think that, if the radiation depletes enough before that point. I believe gunpowder weapons will remain popular. I don't think they'd go back to medieval swords, but definitely a good machete. Hmm, how bout this, a simple garrote. It's roughly two feet of thin, yet strong, metal wire. Easy to make and use, quiet, and you can wrap it so tightly round someone's neck, that it's easy to choke them out. Also, a good Blackjack. It's a basic hand made police Baton. Made out of wood. While not the most deadly weapon, clap someone on the temple or back of the neck, and they're out cold.

I think I might have said this before but Ballistas with some kind of explosive head maybe using some version of Greek Fire, that would be the ultimate Demon killer. There might be come who would make use of Fire Lance. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_lanceA large pole-arm like weapon that could shoot out lead pellets with early gunpowder.

The problem with Greek Fire is that nobody knows how it was made or what it was, so I doubt the Metro would somehow be able to make it.

We know that the Byzantines used some form of it but it and the Greek formula have bee lost, However we can recreate the effects with modern chemicals, and knowledge of chemistry. However your most likely right about the metro making it, I sure that someone would have the understating to make it but the ingredients needed to make the compound.
EDIT: I did some poking around one of the theories is that the Byzantines might have imported some unrefined petroleum from Persia and ticked it with olive oil and added calcium oxide with roasted limestone.

Nobody has ever recreated the effects of Greek Fire with modern chemicals, as we don't know the ingredients and preparation and the effects are known solely through unreliable Medieval texts. So no, you couldn't recreate it so easily.

Dude napalm.

It isn't napalm. The closest known substance based on Greek Fire's effects is thermite, and even then it's not a perfect match.

I'm just says it's close, there are so many stories about it that what we call Greek Fire might have been different compounds in each story. I'm going with fire that can't be put out with water and when water is added it grows stronger.

Besides, napalm is petroleum-based and I don't think the Metro would be too willing to waste its precious petrol reserves.
