It burns more then explodes, but that depends on how you make it. Its used to make incendiary bombs and ammo, and under water welding and industry repairs. Over all it would be highly valued in the Metro, but still you would need someone with knowledge of chemistry to make the stuff safely.

If you burn thermite over ice blocks it'll explode. How? No idea, something to do with hydrogen probably. Any technician that's worked on the train lines would know how to make it.

There's one major draw back for a ballista that I see, reloading/winding it. Sure you can take down a demon or a bear, but what if there's two? As I said before, explain how you'd make assemble it. I don't know if there's rubber bands like what that guy uses around the metro. Or if they'd be used for other things. The RPG is easy enough, but I'd use a metal pipe not PVC. An RPG-2 is pretty simple looking. The redneck mine can be implemented, if your character has a need for it and the stuff they need to build it, they can use in the RP. The PPsh-41 in a confined space is probably more dangerous than a shotgun since it's rof is so insanely high. Also take into account what we already have here: moscovametro2033.proboards.com/thread/31/weapons-equipment-new-guns is a wider selection of guns that do more or less the same thing going to actually help? I'm just tossing stuff at you guys to see what you do with it

Thermite placed on top of ice → Ignited → Exothermic reaction begins → Big Explosion. Possibility 1: Once the thermite has been ignited, a highly exothermic reaction follows it. This exothermic reaction releases a huge amount of energy so fast that the ice becomes superheated and turns into vapor. This vapor condenses around the fine thermite particles forming a steam-thermite aerosol. The thermite mixture continues to react further, resulting in a steam explosion throwing particles around. Yet another explanation is that the high temperature produced during the thermite reaction results in the following reaction: 3Fe(s)+4H2O(g)→Fe3O4(s)+4H2(g) The hydrogen released will explode exothermically in air: H2+12O2→H2O It's easy as cake, really. You just need the thermite. I guess in Nuclear Winter, it's easy to get ice, fair enough?

But Tharina...it's radioactive ice!

So in effect it's a dirty bomb?

Thermite is easy to make, I muck around with it all the time in winter, I'm going to see if I slice a car in half with this year, or melt the car...
But on that, they must have a few fridge freezers on there, that's all you need.
I can see bandits using it to try and cut their way through sealed doors.
